Key Takeaways
- Both offer compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide plus brand-name Wegovy and Zepbound, with a licensed provider deciding what you get.
- GobyMeds is cheaper to start (first-time patients pay $299 for a three-month compounded semaglutide bundle) and has no subscription, but its price climbs with your dose.
- ShedRX (now branded Shed) costs more per month, bills as a subscription, and bundles in coaching, a care team you can text, and unlimited provider follow-ups.
- Neither takes back shipped medication, although Shed’s 120-day guarantee can refund what you paid if you meet its conditions. Read the cancellation terms before you pick a plan length.
I read both sites on September 29, 2026: pricing pages, product pages and the full terms. Where a site doesn’t publish something, I say so.
One housekeeping note. Type in shedrx.com and you land on tryshed.com. Same company, new name: Shed.
What’s the Difference Between GobyMeds and ShedRX?
GobyMeds sells medication by the order. ShedRX sells a membership. That one difference drives almost everything else in this comparison.
With GobyMeds you pay for up to three months of medication at a time, and nothing renews on its own. With Shed you pick a 1, 6 or 12 month plan, it renews automatically, and coaching and follow-ups come with it.
What Medications Do GobyMeds and ShedRX Prescribe?
The core overlaps. Both list compounded semaglutide, compounded tirzepatide, Wegovy and Zepbound. GobyMeds also lists Mounjaro and Ozempic.
Shed’s weight loss menu is wider. It also lists GLP-1 liquid drops, GLP-1 lozenges, Foundayo (a daily pill), a microdose GLP-1 injection, and an oral metformin, naltrexone and topiramate capsule.
A longer menu isn’t automatically better. Which drug and which dose is the prescriber’s call, based on your history. On approval, both sites flag it themselves, and the FDA goes further. Compounded GLP-1s are not FDA-approved, and the FDA says salt forms such as semaglutide sodium and semaglutide acetate are different active ingredients from the ones in the approved drugs.
How Much Does ShedRX Cost Compared to GobyMeds?
GobyMeds is cheaper to start. Shed is simpler to predict. First-time patients can start GobyMeds with a three-month bundle: $299 for compounded semaglutide or $399 for compounded tirzepatide, which works out to $99 and $133 a month. A single month is listed from $169 for semaglutide and from $299 for tirzepatide, and higher doses cost more. Brand-name Zepbound is listed at $1,399 a month and Wegovy at $1,695 a month.
| Listed price (read 2026-09-29) | GobyMeds | ShedRX (Shed) |
|---|---|---|
| Semaglutide, first order | $299 for a 3-month starter bundle (first-time patients) | $199 for 1 month |
| Semaglutide, ongoing | $299, $399 or $499 per 3 months, depending on dose; single month from $169 | $179/month on a 6-month plan, $159/month on a 12-month plan |
| Tirzepatide, first order | $399 for a 3-month starter bundle (first-time patients) | $299 for 1 month |
| Tirzepatide, ongoing | $399, $499 or $599 per 3 months, depending on dose; single month from $299 | $269/month on a 6-month plan, $239/month on a 12-month plan |
| Price rises with dose? | Yes, bundles are priced by dose range | Shed advertises flat pricing that doesn’t increase with your dose |
| Brand-name | Zepbound $1,399 a month, Wegovy $1,695 a month | Wegovy and Zepbound listed; price not shown on the pages I read |
| Shipping | Free, cold-packed | Free standard shipping |
| HSA/FSA | Accepted | Accepted for eligible treatments |
| Insurance | Doesn’t bill insurance directly | Insurance not required |
Here’s what that means over a year of semaglutide, using only the listed prices. On GobyMeds, a $299 starter bundle plus three more three-month bundles at $299, $399 or $499 comes to $1,196 to $1,796, depending on where your prescriber takes your dose. On Shed’s 12-month plan, $159 a month comes to $1,908.
So GobyMeds wins on price. The gap narrows as the dose goes up, and the difference buys you Shed’s support layer.
What’s Included With Each Plan?
This is where Shed earns its higher price. Its product pages list unlimited provider follow-ups, health coaching with a real coach, a care team you can text, a nutrition plan, step-by-step courses and a shot-tracking app called Pivot.
GobyMeds includes a licensed provider review and, in the starter bundles, 12 weeks of medication, shipping, the consultation and an injection kit. Its terms send clinical questions and follow-up to your provider. It doesn’t publish a follow-up schedule or coaching, and each new supply is a new order.
Support: GobyMeds lists an email address, a phone line (866-785-9869) and chat. I couldn’t find support hours on either site.
How Do You Cancel ShedRX, and Can You Get a Refund?
You cancel Shed from the Member Portal, at least 72 hours before your next billing date. Monthly plans renew automatically until you do.
The 6 and 12 month plans are stricter. Shed’s terms set a minimum term with no refunds inside it, except for adverse reactions, provider-directed changes or regulatory problems. Cancel early and the months you used are repriced at the month-to-month rate. The terms’ own refund example treats a 6-month semaglutide plan at $179 a month as $1,074 already paid when the member cancels after four months, so expect to pay the full term up front. If you finance it through Affirm, Klarna or Afterpay, Shed gets the full amount at purchase. Confirm the charge at checkout.
Shed also runs a guarantee: lose 5% of your body weight in 120 days or get back what you paid. It has conditions. You need four monthly coaching appointments, at least eight weight entries, check-ins on 60 of the 120 days, and on-time provider follow-up forms.
GobyMeds is simpler. There’s no subscription, and prescriptions are final sale. Payment is at checkout. Cancel before clinical review starts and you get a full refund. Cancel after that and GobyMeds may keep a $50 clinical-review fee. If the provider declines to prescribe, you get a full refund.
Is ShedRX or GobyMeds Better for Men Over 50?
Pick GobyMeds if you already know how you’ll handle the training and eating side, you want the lowest listed price, and you don’t want to be locked into anything. For the full picture on cost, shipping and the pharmacy question, read our GobyMeds review. You can check GobyMeds’ current pricing here.
Pick Shed if you want someone checking in. After 50, the risk on a GLP-1 isn’t just side effects. It’s losing muscle along with the fat because appetite drops and protein drops with it. A coach and a nutrition plan can help with that, if you use them. You can compare Shed’s plans here.
Either way, the medication doesn’t replace the work. Our guide to GLP-1 for men over 50 covers who qualifies and what to ask the prescriber.
